My Story
Past. Present. Future.
From a young age, I have been fascinated by various art forms. I have spent most of my life working extensively with various mediums -- from drawing and painting to ceramics to digital art to even almost 15 years of classical ballet. What I really love most about art is the freedom of expression through an exciting creative outlet.
As I grew older, I became more interested in learning the art behind modern day media and technology. I attended Tulane University, double majoring in Latin American Studies and Digital Media Production. Latin American Studies, as an interdisciplinary major, helped me improve my writing skills, understand cultural issues further from various vantage points, and refine other soft skills like time management, collaboration, and problem solving determination. I also had the opportunity to spend six months in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I studied at La Universidad de Buenos Aires- Filosofía y Letras. I immersed myself in the culture and language, and learned about the country's rich history, tasty food, and beautiful art and music.
Digital Media Production gave me hands-on experience to master how to develop and produce a film on my own from start to finish. I learned all parts of the filmmaking process from pre production planning, to performing in all roles on set, to editing video and mixing sound in post production. I gained technical skills digital softwares and film equipment to create projects that are informative and thoughtful while maintaining continuity and perfecting the artistic vision. From shorts to feature length films, I have used a variety of these skills in exploring both video and sound production. In the Fall of 2020, I wrote, produced, and edited my capstone film: a twelve minute documentary reflecting on my childhood and upbringing as an Iranian-American and analyzing the generational differences of how Iranian-Americans view themselves in the United States.
Since graduating in 2021, it wasn’t long before I realized that I wanted to pursue a career in the film and entertainment industry. Since then, I have worked on a number of projects assisting with talent and audience on set and editing and designing graphics in post production. Additionally, I've worked for a variety of companies and platforms-- from live events, to reality TV, to sports games, to movies. To me, filmmaking contains an element of magic: it can transform our feelings, transport us to different places and times, alter perceptions, expose us to different cultures and perspectives, teach us cutting edge information, and create critical dialogue on issues. My experience and technical skills have even allowed me to work on several projects within a variety of industries, such as media, advertising, digital marketing and hospitality. I am always eager to experience new opportunities to develop my skillset. Get in touch with me for additional information about my past work and current projects.
